The football competiton of the 1932 Summer Olympics was held in Los Angeles. 16 teams entered the tournament which included six new teams in Summer Olympics football. These countries were Jamaica, Canada, Japan, United States (who withdrew from the previous two competitions), Mexico and Brazil. But despite lower crowd numbers, Argentina took home the gold medal as they defeated the host nation by 4-1.
